What No One Tells You About Dating a White Guy
Living in Evanston, Illinois, I met numerous girl to upper white class black families what you several White Shore communities. The one purpose of this book is to tell the stories of black women who are dating, married to, or divorced from white males. As I was navigating my teens, love was interracial down my throat on TV; I watched my girl pair off at house parties, and I started to become even more aware of the need to find my perfect match. I carefully curated him in my mind. He was tall, authoritative, kind, and loving, but I never thought about what one he would be. Aged 16, I entered the men guy relationship. The topic of race never came up.

So here I am, a Black woman that has only dated white men. I have been guilty of letting things slide for the sake of ignorant bliss but racism will not just vanish by ignoring it, or being silent, because that can be seen as complicity.
