Mojo Sportswear Vented Wireman Review

Enjoying the outdoors in comfort and protecting yourself from the elements at the same time is something we should all try to focus on.  Of everything out there that can hurt us, nothing does more damage than the sun.  Mojo Sportswear Company produces apparel that is intended to let you enjoy the hot summer days and still stay protected from the sun.  I’m trying out the Ocean Vented Wireman out on the shores of Myrtle Beach in 100+ degree temps to see if I can stay cool and protected from the sun’s rays at the same time.

First off, here is a little bit about the Ocean Vented Wireman from the Mojo Sportswear Company website.

First impressions of the shirt as I tried it on for the first time was how comfortable it was.  A lot of performance wicking shirts these days tend to feel almost hard and heavy.  This material is lightweight and soft.  I actually wore for our 14 hour car ride down to NC and it made for a very comfortable ride.  So far its just as advertised.

Upon getting to the beach in the hot sun a few days later, I started to notice why these shirts are focused for off shore fishing.  That sun is hot and it just intensifies the effect as it bounces off the water onto your skin.  Covering as much skin as possible is crucial but so is staying cool.  The Ocean Vented Wireman did both very well on the beach.  While there was a decent ocean breeze to help stay cool, I was very comfortable walking around in the sand.  But, once I ventured inland a little bit away from the steady breeze, the long sleeves were causing extra heat for me.  The shirt does breathe well, and I found that as long as that ocean is blowing a little, this is the perfect solution for comfort and protection from the sun.  But once that breeze stops and its just you and the sun, shade is your only option.

Mojo Sportswear Company was also gracious enough to send me a Snap Back Mesh Hat to try out.  I wish I could tell you how much I liked that hat but I can’t.  It seems I wasn’t worthy of it as it was confiscated right away by my girlfriend (now fiancee, actually proposed while wearing the Ocean Vented Wireman) and other family members that were passing it around all week.  I was only allowed to wear it for a couple pics.  I don’t know where that cap is now, but I have a feeling the picture to the left is a good clue.  I need to get my own now.

Mojo Sportswear Company is producing some quality apparel for all outdoorsman.  They have a full line or gear for out on the water or out on the town.  I recommend checking out their website at http://mojo-gear.com and give them a like on their Facebook page also.
