To me the hunt is about the challenge and bringing food home to my family. Every once in a while I may get lucky and get something big, but that’s only because it happened to be the first thing that walked by that morning. I love upland hunting, squirrel hunting, rabbits, predators and of course deer. I believe in preparing for every hunt by starting on the roads, trails and gyms. Train Hard, Hunt Hard is a great motto to live by and it will greatly help live you longer. I don’t like a lot of things that are happening to the hunting and outdoors community and tend to voice my opinions on these topics. It’s a free country, isn’t it??
I’ve hunted, fished and everything outdoors my whole life. I grew up spending my summers in the woods from sun up to sun down with my friends from down the road. We explored, we learned and we loved whatever we could get into. I learned a lot from those days and lucky enough, I learned a lot from my Dad as he had me hunting from a young age. I want all the same for my children as I raise them as outdoorsmen. I believe knowledge and understanding is the key to everything. I had guns in my kids hands from the time they were old enough to hold them. They will have to deal with a lot growing up with most people in their lives not knowing or understanding our world or guns. I want them to be the smart ones.
I refuse to talk about politics and even tho I do go to church, kinda, I won’t discuss religion. Everyone has the right to believe in what they want to believe in and worship how they wish. It’s not my place to say my way is better. I won’t tell anyone what products to use, I will only help with finding what works best for you.
So if you’re wondering about AverageOutdoorsman.com, don’t worry, it’s not going anywhere. I decided I wanted to bring back Average Hunter and keep this site more towards me and the words I want to say about the outdoors and any other topic I wanted.
